Palm Desert Electrician, From Casitas to Country Clubs
Palm Desert homes have their own character, older panels and all. We're a desert family business, and as a Palm Desert electrician, we know them well. Letting someone into your home takes trust, and we'd rather earn it than ask for it. Same-day service available.

What Shapes the Work
What do two power companies and older homes mean for an electrician in Palm Desert?

For an electrician in Palm Desert, your power company shapes the steps for a panel upgrade or solar, and an older home can mean an older panel. Most of the city is on Southern California Edison (SCE), and a small part on the Imperial Irrigation District (IID). On every call, we look at your panel and explain what we see.
- Palm Desert's photo inspections don't cover electrical permits, so a Building & Safety inspector checks permitted work in person, and we'll plan that visit with you
- On permitted work, you sign a city form about smoke alarms, and carbon monoxide alarms in some homes, and we'll tell you up front what yours needs
- The price you approve is the price you pay, even if the job takes longer than we expected

SCE, IID and City Permits
Is your Palm Desert home on SCE or IID, and why does it matter?
Palm Desert homes get their power from Southern California Edison (SCE) or the Imperial Irrigation District (IID). You don't need to sort that out before you call. We check which utility serves your home, because it changes the steps for a panel upgrade or solar, and we'll walk you through them.

Panel Upgrades, Two Ways
How does a panel upgrade differ between SCE and IID in Palm Desert?
For Southern California Edison (SCE) homes, the panel upgrade goes through SCE's project planning portal. For Imperial Irrigation District (IID) homes, IID's checklist has the city pass the new panel before your power comes back on. On one Palm Desert job, the utility's power disconnect, our panel work and the city's inspection fell on one day.
Palm Desert Homes
What do we see in Palm Desert homes, and when is it time to call?

More Palm Desert homes were built in the 1980s than in any other decade, the Census shows, and about a third are older. In one 1989 home, the solar and battery system couldn't be signed off until we added linked smoke, carbon monoxide and heat alarms. The signs below tell you when it's worth a call.
If yours is a seasonal home, let us know your dates. We'll schedule around them and keep you updated.
Maintenance
In Palm Desert, we've cleaned sand out of panels and outdoor service posts, and we've heard sand inside a breaker. One standby generator's maintenance visit turned up a missing safety cover and a spliced wire that was too small for its job.
Age
Signs an older panel needs a look: air conditioning trouble that keeps coming back, an insurer asking about the panel, or a home inspection during a sale. One 1962 Palm Desert home kept having air conditioning trouble and still had its 100-amp Zinsco panel. We replaced it with a larger 225-amp one, ready for solar.
Installation
Before adding an EV charger, a golf-cart circuit, pool equipment or a backup generator, we check that your panel is ready for it. In one 2007 home, we ran two EV circuits and a golf-cart circuit, and added GFCI (Shock Prevention) Protection for the pool equipment.
What do homeowners say in their own words?
Palm Desert homeowners tell us what mattered: getting to the bottom of a problem that had them stumped, explaining it in plain words, keeping them posted while they were out of state, and knowing the price up front.
“Angel and Gio replaced our old electric panel. They are both the best! Totally happy and satisfied with every aspect of the project. Thank you!”
“Javier was friendly and efficient. He did a whole home inspection and found some safety concerns with our old equipment that we’ll have to address down the road. But for now the new outlet for our stove top works and looks great!”
“Mike was the right person to fix our problem. We had a potential fire hazard. He found the issue and repaired it quickly.”
“Javier is an excellent worker. He is very thorough and did a great job installing our Home EV Electric Charger. We are very happy with everything he did. Wonderful employee. We rate him very highly.”
“Javier was very professional and explained things in detail. And he did a wonderful job installing our lights! Thank you Javier!!!”
“Javier was great and professional. He explained things that needed to be fixed and why and how it works. Plus he was able to do a same day service for our issue. Thanks for everything!”

How We Work
4 Simple Steps
Pro tip: The price depends on your home's age and condition, how easy the wiring is to reach, the parts, and any permit, which in Palm Desert can mean adding smoke alarms under the city's form. On a panel upgrade, the day also waits on your utility. You'll know the price before we start.
How We Work
How does a service call at a Palm Desert home work?
Your electrician arrives in the window we give you and starts by understanding what's going on. If the problem is on the utility's side, whether Southern California Edison (SCE) or the Imperial Irrigation District (IID), we'll say so. Before we leave your Palm Desert home, we test the work, clean up, and walk you through what we did.
We evaluate first
An electrician looks at the circuit and the panel it runs through, on every call.
We explain the situation
We tell you what's wrong and why, in words that make sense without a trade background.
We give you the price before any work begins
Our $99 service fee covers the time we need to evaluate the situation, the available options, and guaranteed pricing before any work begins. Every decision about what happens next belongs to you.
Then you decide
We'll explain what we see and walk you through your options. You decide what fits your home.
