An EV charger isn't really the box on the wall. The box just manages the connection. The real work is the dedicated 240V circuit feeding it: a correctly sized breaker in your panel, the right gauge wire run to where the car parks, and a panel with enough capacity to carry the load on top of everything else your home already runs.
A Level 2 EV charger draws a large, steady current for hours at a time. That's a very different job than a toaster or a hair dryer, which run for minutes. Continuous high load is why the circuit has to be sized deliberately, not just plugged into whatever's nearby.
So the install is three questions answered in order. Does the panel have room and capacity? What's the safe path to run the circuit to the car? And where does the charger mount so the cord reaches without strain? Get those right and charging is something you stop thinking about.
