Where Can Palm Desert Homeowners Find Rebates for Electrical Upgrades?

Start with the city's rebate page, which links to both of Palm Desert's utilities. For 2026, the Imperial Irrigation District (IID) has rebates for a Level 2 charger and for a heat pump replacing a gas furnace. As of September 2026, Southern California Edison (SCE) had a panel-upgrade rebate for qualifying single-family homes. Before you buy, ask us what fits.

The City's Rebate Page

Where Does Palm Desert Send Homeowners Looking for Rebates?

To its Environmental Programs page. It links to the rebate, incentive and program pages of utilities and public agencies. Two of them sell power in Palm Desert: Southern California Edison (SCE) and the Imperial Irrigation District (IID). For electrical work, check those two first.

Start with the city's list, then follow your utility's link.

What can get a rebate

Utilities and public agencies offer rebates on items like pool pumps, evaporative coolers, EV chargers, and heating and cooling systems.

Two Utilities, Different Rebates

Why Do Rebates Differ Between Palm Desert Homes?

Because each utility runs its own rebate programs, and Palm Desert has two. Most of the city gets its power from Southern California Edison (SCE). A limited portion is on the Imperial Irrigation District (IID). So the right list depends on the address, not just the city.

    A charger rebate from IID

For 2026, IID's ReCharge has a rebate for a Level 2 charger mounted on a wall or a freestanding post, bought and installed that year. IID says these rebates are limited, not guaranteed, and may end without notice. IID's ReCharge page

Also for 2026, IID's Energy Rewards program has a rebate for a new heat pump that replaces a gas furnace. None of its rebates is for a panel upgrade. IID's Energy Rewards page

Know the Difference

How Do SCE's and IID's Rebates Differ for Palm Desert Homes?

They're for different work, and the rules differ too. Southern California Edison's (SCE) panel rebate was for single-family homes only when we checked in September 2026. The Imperial Irrigation District (IID) has no panel rebate in 2026. It allows one charger rebate every five years, so a second charger in that time gets none.

Worth a Call First

When Should a Rebate Plan Start With a Call to Us?

  • A Level 2 charger planned for 2026
  • A second car charger on the way
  • An address search that leaves you unsure of the utility

Call us before you buy a charger or start a panel upgrade at your Palm Desert home, so the rebate rules are part of the plan. The Imperial Irrigation District's (IID) charger rebate is for one bought and installed in 2026, so the install date counts too. We'll check which utility serves your home.

What to Expect

How Do We Check a Palm Desert Home Before an Upgrade?

We check your panel, the circuits the upgrade needs and which utility serves your Palm Desert home, since each has its own rebates. The panel and circuits shape the price, and you see it first. Once it's done, we test it, tidy up and tell you what went in and when, because a rebate can depend on that date.

  1. 01

    We evaluate first.

We check your panel's size and where a new outlet or circuit for a charger could go.

  2. 02

    We explain the situation.

We tell you, in plain words, what the upgrade involves and which utility's rebate page holds the current terms.

  3. 03

We give you the price before any work begins.

Our $99 service fee covers the time we need to evaluate the situation, the available options, and guaranteed pricing before any work begins. Every decision about what happens next belongs to you.

  4. 04

    Then you decide.

We'll explain what we see and walk you through your options. You decide what fits your home.
