Who is Angel Duenas?

Angel Duenas is a Lead Residential Electrician with six years at Home Team Electric. He's known for strong project management, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to ease tension on stressful jobs. Angel earned Home Team Electric's 2025 award for the most five-star reviews on the team. He started in the trade in 2015 and works regularly in older homes, with particular depth in panel upgrades and lighting.

Angel grew up in Indio, and so did his wife, Jeimy. Today they're raising their son Julian, affectionately known as Juju, right here in the Coachella Valley. Angel also has a twin sister. Spend a little time around him, and you'll likely see a picture, or two or three, of his French Bulldog, Sprite.

He joined Home Team Electric six years ago. Today he's a Lead Residential Electrician.

Around the team, Angel is known for leadership, strong project management, and attention to detail. He likes a job to run the right way.

Angel is especially good at helping homeowners take an idea and turn it into a finished project. He has a natural ability to ease tension in stressful situations, and clients feel that immediately. In 2025, Angel earned Home Team Electric's award for the most five-star reviews on the team.

Angel started in the trade in 2015. He learned through on-the-job training and has built particular depth in panel upgrades and lighting. He often walks homeowners through surge protection: what it does and why it matters.

Much of Angel's work takes him into older homes. He and the team have tracked down problems hidden in walls: wires that were cut or came loose, located with testing equipment and corrected properly. One job he's proud of: a client who had gone years without power in their bathrooms. Angel evaluated the problem, fixed it, and left them with something they'd been missing for a long time.

The mindset behind all of it goes back to his father. Growing up, his dad taught him two things: if you work hard, that hard work will eventually be rewarded. And if you're going to put in the effort, you might as well do it right and be proud of the work you leave behind. Angel has carried both lessons with him.

When Angel is in the home, people relax, and the plan is clear.

Angel joined Home Team Electric in 2020 and has stayed because of what the work means here. He takes the time to evaluate a home's electrical system, explain what he sees, and give homeowners the options to make an informed decision. Safety, quality, and the long-term relationship with the people in these homes are what keep him focused. About 1000 homes later, that approach hasn't changed.

Home Team Electric was built for these neighbors. All of them. By people who are part of them.

Answers

Common questions about working with Angel and the team.

Are Your Electricians Licensed and Certified?

Yes. Home Team Electric holds California C-10 Electrical Contractor License #879507, verifiable at cslb.ca.gov. The field team includes certified residential specialists, electricians in training, and apprentices, and a certified electrician leads or oversees the work in your home.

How Does Living in This Desert Change the Way You Evaluate a Home’s Electrical System?

It changes the evaluation from the start. Coachella Valley summers regularly climb past 115 degrees, and Morongo Basin day-to-night swings can exceed 40 degrees, cycling expansion and contraction through every connection. So symptoms get read against the home's age, construction era, and load history, not just the breaker that tripped.

What Protections Do I Have If Something Goes Wrong After the Job?

Two guarantees with proof behind them. The 100% Satisfaction Guarantee means if the work does not meet your expectations, we make it right. The Lifetime Workmanship Guarantee means we fix workmanship failures at no charge, and the coverage stays with the home if you sell it. Behind both: California C-10 Electrical Contractor License #879507 and a $1,000,000 per-occurrence liability policy.

Why Does Home Team Electric Only Work on Residential Homes?

Because residential electrical work is a specialty, not a side category. Most contractors split time between construction, commercial buildings, and residential calls. Home Team Electric chose one focus in 2006: the electrical systems inside homes across the Coachella Valley and Morongo Basin. Decades inside thousands of desert homes builds pattern recognition no generalist schedule can produce.

Who Is Home Team Electric, and Who Will Actually Be in My Home?

Home Team Electric is a residential-only electrical contractor serving the Coachella Valley and Morongo Basin since 2006. The person at your door is a Home Team Electric electrician: drug tested, background checked, and professionally trained, with weekly ongoing training. The company has completed more than 25,000 residential projects, with a 4.9 Google rating and 16,000+ homeowners served.

Do I Need GFCI (Shock Prevention) Protection by the Pool and Spa?

Yes. Code requires GFCI (shock prevention) protection for pool and spa equipment, nearby receptacles, and underwater lighting, and the requirement exists because water and electricity meet here on purpose. Many desert pools predate today's requirements and run unprotected. If you do not know whether yours is protected, that is exactly what the evaluation answers.

When Does an Older Desert Home Need Rewiring?

Rewiring is warranted when the wiring itself, not just a device, has aged past safety: brittle or damaged insulation, ungrounded two-wire circuits, aluminum branch wiring, or repeated faults across different circuits. Desert attics bake wiring insulation for decades. An evaluation maps which circuits actually need work, because most older homes need targeted rewiring, not a whole-home gut.

What Does Whole-Home Surge Protection Actually Protect?

A whole-home surge protector at the panel clamps voltage spikes before they reach your circuits, protecting everything plugged in: AC systems, appliances, EV chargers, and electronics. In the desert, monsoon lightning, grid switching, and your own large motors all generate surges. Plug strips alone protect single devices. The panel unit protects the home.
